Grade Chasing, My Thoughts

June 12, 2015

It's crunch time now! I am halfway through my examinations with just 2 more papers to go. With this semester ending, I am starting to ponder quite a bit, and here are some thoughts I have.
I've learnt to stop chasing grades, simply because in future, NONE of my patients that I would be helping will know my grades, neither would they be interested. What matters most is how I am going to treat them and how I am as a person. Grades don't show who are you as a person. This, however does not mean that I give up on good grades, it's more of just aiming for what I think is enough. After all, education is a learning process. I could be a straight 7s (that's the max GPA here) student, but suck at practical and handling patients, patients are annoyed by my skills or I could be a slightly better than average 5/6s student, know my practical stuff well, know how to handle my patients, and most importantly, loved by my patients.
Furthermore, I believe my GPA gets reset when I hit Year 4 (in another 1.5 years). So what's the point if I did all so well and it gets reset, and have to restart, and Year 4 is a year based on your placements (aka attachment/internship). Also, we need to GET A LIFE. That means, stop chasing grades so aggressively. It's okay to have set backs, bad grades once in awhile. It happens, things happen. No one is flawless. If you are flawless in your grades, I could say you could flaw in your character. Be someone who brings positivity to others and not a snobbish grade-seeking fella.
What I miss most now is having a Co-curricular Activity. I used to be in the sports team back in poly. It was one the best times. I think CCA really brings out the real you, and for the short few hours, you get complete freedom, not worrying about school and just doing what you love.
Don't worry, Be Happy! Even if it's bad, accept it and move on, don't harp on what has been done. It does you no good and only brings negative vibes out of everyone. That is why, I don't discuss my answers after any papers. Let me ask you a question: What's the purpose of discussing? Will it affect your final grade? Do you get a second chance to do the paper? NO! So, just forget about everything regarding the exams, move on, I'm sure that's not the only paper you have. Direct all this energy you have for curiosity (about getting right/wrong answers, trying to see how others did) to your preparation for your next paper.

3rd Month Mark

May 12, 2015

So time flew past. It's already my third month in Brisbane. Neglected this space once again due to overwhelming school assignments. Managed to clear 3 assignments last week. I have just started on my exam revision (Notes Preparation Stage), did more than I expected so I decided to blog for a little while masking.
10 weeks of school passed. I'm tired. Trying to prevent burn-out. I have other commitments as of now as well. Helping out with design/marketing for Singaporean activities. So, I get a little more stressed and conscious of the time I have on hand. If I have 2 meetings a week, that means I have AT LEAST 4-6 hours LESSER than others to do my revision, my school work. 4-6 hours is enough to complete 2 sets of notes. Time is definitely not on my side, so I have to take every chance, of what ever time I have on time to be a nerd, and start preparing for exams before it's too late.
After I was done with notes just now, I realised, it's really much better back in Singapore. Whenever my fingers/hand get tired from writing notes, my mum would massage them for me. Whenever my back aches from sitting too long, writing notes, she would help massage and stretch for me. And I don't have to worry about a single meal. Here, I have NOTHING. Zero. I have to endure the aches, rely on muscle relief gels/cream, get on with life studying and cook my meals (but thankfully, I have housemates who usually do the cooking).
I miss my Singaporean friends. Unfortunately, not going back to Singapore this July, because I need to save money. & 1 month break back in SG is not enough. So, I'm heading back end November instead.
School's been pretty alright I would say, though I often zone out during lectures, either because I am too sleepy or I catch no ball. Trying not to give myself too much stress, but time to continue adapting and get used to everything. But, I would say I have been doing quite alright since it's my 1st semester in University. Just 10 weeks in, I think what I have achieved now is considered good (since I have to factor in housework etc, the reduction of time available to study).
I think that's all for now. I will try to be back once I'm done with finals. My finals end on the 22nd June. Let's do this Miko, we will survive this. To my readers, all the best and work hard in your lives!

Fresh Face

February 1, 2015

Did you hear the Church bell ring? It's 1st February, congrats on surviving the first month of 2015. Finally, this new layout that you're seeing is ready to meet the world. Spent about a couple of weeks finding web resources and the final inspiration for a spanking new layout. Initially, I had wanted to keep to the monochrome x minimalist style/theme that I had before but finally settled for something more light-hearted, chill and radiant. Decided on the following colours: Coral, Peach, Dark Grey and a few other colours you can spot in my new layout. Wanted something I can feel happy looking at it instead of receiving a serious, structured feel. Let me know if you like this new feeling. Not a bad choice/decision right?

The process of having to look at html codes, editing them and creating new blog header and small little details in this little space almost drove me crazy. Many times I had forgotten to save the codes and had to redo it or otherwise, messed the codes too much that it went haywire. Another problem was photoshop, because I got a new laptop, and it's so high resolution that it's 3200 x 1800 pixels and freaking photoshop tools/toolbar appear so tiny on my screen. Guess I will have to do photoshop on my older laptop which is not so high resolution for the comfort of my eyes. Had to bear with it for the past few weeks (did try to magnify, but it's not helping when I need to see if the image is sharp enough).

Despite all that, I'm so in love with my new laptop!  It's of a very sleek design, comes in the chicest shade of rosy champagne (because of the metallic sheen, it appears way darker than in real life). On top of these, it has a touch-screen monitor which sometimes can make things a little easier: Instead of redirecting your mouse cursor, all you need is a touch on the screen.

Go ahead and navigate around the blog, let me know what you like about it (just comment or tweet me) and what you hope to see (that isn't here on the blog). Some parts of the blog are still under construction, will finalise those parts once I settle down in Brisbane. Eg. Skincare tab right at the top, it would eventually lead you to a whole list of beauty products I use regularly etc., & it may change overtime so do check that page out every other few months to see if I have a new favourite/routine (I'll try to hint if there's any in my blog posts). Brisbane Tab would show all posts related to Brisbane life (which is almost every other entry starting from 8th Feb, okay maybe this tab ain't a good idea, if you have a better suggestion, do state it). Also, please don't mind the newly updated 'About' page, I pre-edited it because I would be too lazy to do it when I get to Brisbane.

Do read my blog on mobile devices as well. It's a responsive layout, hoping to make it easier to read contents of my blog on different devices. Don't forget to let me know how it looks on your device (do state what device you are using). The mobile layout has a slightly different from a desktop view. Have only tested it out on iPhone 4, Asus Zenfone 5 and Desktop, but I have used an online tool – a Responsinator. It shows how a certain site would look like on various mobile devices. I am aware the "Search" page is not perfect on mobile, so let's just agree to just live with it, life's meant to have some flaws.

Just fell in love with this Valore multi-port usb station because it can read my MicroSD memory card of my Samsung NX Mini. I prefer the traditional way of transferring images onto my laptop instead of over a wifi/internet connection to do a backup and then retrieve my images from the folder. My MicroSD would sit nicely in that gap above the red led light (TF Port). I got this from Challenger for free the other day when I bought my external disc drive and a new wireless mouse.

I'm still busy doing some final packing because my luggage were still overweight. So, it's a really intense fight of Want vs. Need. My clothes are taking up a whole lot space and weight. To get more updates, do follow me on twitter/instagram (@mikomxy) & on Dayre (@xmiko). Will try dayre often for little daily encounters. Till the next time I blog, would be when I have settled down in Brisbane!

For my Singaporean friends who are reading this & might want to send me off at the airport, here are the details: SQ235, Terminal 3. I should be entering the departure gate at 8.30PM, so do catch me before that. I will loiter outside the departure area from 8PM. Don't get me any gifts, because my baggage is a burden and I'm maxing out my carry-on allowance already. Your presence is enough!

K.Cook Korean BBQ Restaurant

January 14, 2015

So last weekend, I met up with my Secondary school clique for dinner at K.Cook Korean BBQ Buffet Restaurant. It was pretty good. I had give it a 3.5/4 stars. They have a wide variety of ingredients for you to bbq. From table top basics Kimchi, radish to marinated beef, bacon and even to ready-to-eat Chicken Wings and Jeon (Korean Pancakes) and many more. Service was pretty satisfactory as well.

I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking! (All the kimchi you see belongs to my stomach, I love bbq-ing my kimchi).

Photos taken by my Samsung NX mini

Bill came up to about $31/pax. So, best if you go in a big group like we did to make it worth. Please don't eat rice also, because meat more expensive. Make every single cent worth.

Weather was great that night, because there was a downpour earlier, and it was a breezy, yummy night.

Emotional Rollercoaster Ride

January 4, 2015

New year, new emotions. I think I'm on an emotional rollercoaster these days. Very likely due to the fact that I am aware that I departing for Brisbane in 5 weeks, for a good 3 years. Not that I will not be back in between at all. I feel it's really stepping out of my comfort zone (being in Singapore) that scares me subconsciously. I had dreams of me being alone, lost. Reality had better be the opposite. From last year's expectation to leave was like 7months countdown and now, it's down to the final 5 weeks. There's still a bit of stuff for me to settle.

I am heading for Brisbane with a small group of friends, mostly all studying the same undergraduate programme as I do. I am just afraid what if, just what if the person I need there the most if my family and my friends wouldn't suffice? Maybe we will all learn to become each other's pillar of support, becoming each other's family. I am unsure how i would react to homesickness, when homesickness would hit me. But 1 thing that I'm really grateful is that language is not a barrier. I can't imagine being misunderstood or not understood at all, that sucks even more. I can speak English and Mandarin fluently and some Korean.

I am looking up to all celebrities, especially those that left that home countries/families to do what they love. They must have plucked up so much courage to do it alone. They are inspirational. I am sure they did go through phases like missing their families and stuff, but I am very impressed that they have got over that phase and are comfortable in their current situation. Something that I will learn from them.

I think one thing i have to remember and do over at the land of sunshine is to 'Do one thing at a time'. I will not be in my home country, so to adapt, i can only be patient and let adaptation occur as I experience the country and culture. I won't have the benefit of knowing everything /most things like i do here in Singapore. I have to re-learn some things like taking the public transport, recognising roads, buildings etc.

Today, I am nervous and afraid. I hope that I would grow to be stronger even if tough times do come along. Note to myself, breaking down once in awhile is okay, don't have to bottle everything up. Breaking down is not a weakness, neither is it giving up. Breaking down is to slow down your own pace, to rest for a longer journey ahead. I do forsee myself breaking down sometime. But, it's just me telling myself to take a break and re-look at the situation and see what I can do to make the best out of it.

2015 Resolutions

January 1, 2015

Let's look back for a moment to see what I have managed to achieve in 2014. For 2014, I had 5 things on my resolution list:
01. Pick up a new language Yes, I did. I completed the entire Basic Level (4 Levels in total) of korean.
02. Learn Baking - Uhhh, maybe leave it till I'm Brisbane, fellow housemate can bake.
03. Save more money - Ooops, i think I overspent. *blames mind for Impulse buys*
04. Have a better temper - Still as angsty as always. But I am nice to people who deserves it okay.
05. Lose some extra pounds I did, about 2-2.5kg.
So for the new year, 2015, here are my resolutions:

01. Be nice to people, especially my housemates/homies
As chinese saying goes "在家靠父母出门靠朋友". I promise to not argue, but to talk nicely to one another, no overnight grudges if there ever be disagreements (choy! okay). Learn from each other and grow to become a better person. Appreciate each other's effort. House of MAWA, we can do it!

02. Study hard & manage my time wisely
Transitioning to an undergraduate student in 1 month and 1 week's time. I have to be independent, this time for real, without my parents, sibling, but only my friends. I have to drill myself to continue taking pride in my work and be hardworking and to not procrastinate. I think I can do it with my homies support.

03. Learn to budget my expenditures
Being on scholarship doesn't mean I am sponsored for everything. It means giving me the opportunity to experience budgeting my expenditures since I only have that fixed amount of stipend. Well, I guess that means more financial knowledge and control over my own finances. Part of becoming a young adult, and I mean handling adult matters.

04. Maintain my body weight
Maintaining is more difficult than losing weight. I did gain back a teeny bit of weight, must be festive feasting effect. So this month, before I fly I shall try to shed it off and to maintain it while I'm in Brisbane.

05. To blog more
Only if University assignments don't drown me. I'll try my best to keep my family and friends updated about my life in Brisbane through this tiny little space I have. Will blog about life with my housemates, food experiences and school encounters etc.
As usual, only 5 on the list so I don't stray too far.

Hope everyone had a great night counting down and embracing a new year. It's a new start, give yourself a chance to outdo and better yourself as a person in this new year! We all grow through experiences, be it good or bad.

Till the next time, bye. Got to start tidying my room and picking things out for Brisbane.

Pet Peeves

December 27, 2014

Haven't been blogging much because there isn't anything interesting that I had want to share. December is supposed to be a happy, merry, jolly month. However, I still got caught up in angst somehow. I always try to chill as much, but I would end up wanting to give the //offender a piece of my mind. Thought of compiling some of my personal pet peeves.

01. Inefficient & Ineffective Humans
I just dislike working with inefficient and ineffective humans in short. Really. Just living on Earth for merely 20 years and I felt like I have met a lifetime worth of inefficient and ineffective people. These people can also be referred as sloths. They would always give excuses like "life's too short to blahblahblah...". Seriously doubting their chain of logic - say life's short and they take their own sweet time, and worse still, don't get things done the right way, and even worse, wait for people to clean up their mess.
My previous post about my camera purchase had some hiccups... so I had to repurchase and here I am, a lone ranger urging 3 Parties to do their job properly: TAQBIN the main troublemaker, who lost my parcel within their premises (total flop of their Japanese Head Company can). Next, the Seller to send new order using another courier/mailing company, just no TaqBin and to get the compensation from TaqBin to refund me. Lastly, Qoo10SG Customer Service team to assist in ensuring the Seller does what is instructed.
02. Inconsiderate Smokers
Just imagine that you just bathed, got ready to head out and at the bus stop, inconsiderate smokers just blow the smoke in your face or smoke in the direction of wind approaching you. I have to admit I swear at them under my breath. Another scenario, got a seat on the bus/train, hoping someone prim and proper would take the empty seat beside you. BAM! A smoker who has just finished his/her nicotine/tar inhaling just had to sit beside you. What's worse if you have a long journey! I would purposely shift slightly away from them and use a tissue/hand to cover my nose very obviously so they can notice that they DO STINK. To all smokers out there, it is already bad that most innocent people around you have to take in your second-hand smoke, as a smoker, it doesn't give you additional rights to taint another non-smoker's fair share of clean, odorless air.

03. The Humans who ask 1234567890 Questions
Do I look like Customer Service Officer or the answer sheet to all your questions? Can I please direct these people to Google.com. I think Google would have more time and the right answers to answer you. Just remember someone out there, somewhere had definitely experienced the same thing, if not the same at least similar situations. It's okay if you ask me up to 3 questions within a span of 10-20 minutes (on chat). That's my threshold, that's very low I know. I just tend to become more irritable when people start to question me, so Three It Is. & some people just have to ask dumb questions. In real life, I might just answer much more as long as it's not dumb questions with obvious answers that would make anyone go DUH or roll their eyes. Think before you ask.

04. Religious People who Preach about their Religions
Oh, you did not just do that in my face. Especially to me, as a free thinker. Go elsewhere to do your preaching. I have no interest in committing to a religion and the practices that come with it. I have been brought up as a free thinker, and I like it, enjoy being one and will continue to be one. So don't try too hard, else I would bite back. I like the fact that I can believe in myself, trust myself, love myself and do things I like without any restrictions or requirements. In short, I don't give a damn about what religion you have, you can do whatever you like, but not interfere with my life, particularly with my beliefs.

05. Taking/Touching my belongings w/o Permission
Call me paranoid, whatever. I just loathe it when people touch my stuff. Maybe because born in the year of Dog, and dogs like to mark their territory. So I guess, I like "marking" my belongings. I may be lazy in my own personal life (except when I am at work/school, I make an effort to be more organised), but I know my mess well, I don't want anyone to shift anything around because you would be just messing with my memory of where I last placed/used my stuff. If you have to borrow something, just ask nicely, most of the time I am okay with it as long as you return the item back to where it was or to me, personally. Itchy fingers go away.
After reading this you might think I complain a lot, but every human has his/her own limits. These are my limits.

Click Click!

December 8, 2014

Just made a purchase online for a Samsung NX mini. Have been reading reviews about it and at least 90-95% of them says it's good. Reason for getting a camera is because AUSSIE. This camera will help capture some highlights over at Brisbane, scenery, friends, food, and everything under the Sun.

Was looking at it last night online, and it was so expensive (at that point), was secretly hoping a time sale would happen today (monday), and it did, so I went ahead and bought it. Saved a whopping $100.

Can't wait for it to arrive (probably 1-2weeks later). Will share more about it when I receive it. In the meantime, keep your guesses coming on which color I chose.

On a side note, 2.5 weeks of work left. 10+ more working days. So looking forward to finish up this temp job, so I can solely concentrate on emptying out my room and pack & prepare for Brisbane. Do some final meetups with friends etc.

Monthly Favourites: November 2014

November 30, 2014

It's already the end of November! Apologies for leaving this space unattended. I have been busy with my work, surprisingly I fit in the new work environment quite well. Time passed so quickly! It's time for another Monthly Favourites!

For the month of November, I have been using ChicKissLove quite a bit since it often has sales and I get established blogshop apparels at a much cheaper price. I got a TheClosetLover pants at only $13.50, felt like i scored on it. Also, BLACK FRIDAY just passed and I got a couple of apparels from different webstores.

Also, I managed to attend CKL's Style Wars I last weekend and bagged home a few great deals (Tops and bottoms were 10 SGD, and dresses/outerwears were 15 SGD). Glad I had won VIP Pass so I could lay my fingers on the clothes, I was eyeing on some while the CKL staff were pushing in the clothes filled rack #KiaSuModeOn . It was my first time attending a blogshop warehouse sales (the only warehouse sale I go to is sports warehouse sales) and I felt like sharing some tips if you were to ever attend one.

Pre-event: Measure and note the dimension of each piece of apparel that fit you best (PTP, STS, Chest, Waist, Length etc), you will need to refer to this during the event.

1. Use a Sling Bag/Crossbody
So both hands of yours can do their work, rummaging through the racks and picking the clothes out quickly.

2. Pick, then shortlist
Go all out and pick clothes that you like even if it meant exceeding your budget, then proceed to a corner and shortlist the clothes that can fit you and you MUST HAVE. The ones that you don't want, return them to the racks. Simple isn't it?

3. Bring a measuring tape
So you can measure if the clothes fit you, check against the measurement list that you made before the event.

4. Bring an umbrella
Singapore weather is bipolar, so bring one to tackle wet and super hot weathers while making your way to the sale/back home.

I have been shopping on Shopping-District.net and I recently bought a new eye shadow palette, powder blush and an eyebrow kit and I must say I am happy with my purchase! You can get quite a variety of US/UK drugstore/established cosmetic brands from their webstore!

Revolution Iconic 3 Palette. It's supposedly a Naked3 dupe, and I would say the color pay-off is quite good. Never owned and never will own a Naked1/2/3 so I can't compare, but I am sure you can search up the reviews online. It also comes in Iconic 1 and 2 but unfortunately sold out. Definitely love this more than BeautyUK palette.

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Medium/02. Finally something for my brows and fits me because I just might stick to having brown tones to my hair. Love how it comes with all the mini tools, just EVERYTHING-in-1 set, ready to go.

Jordana Powder Blush in Coral Sandy Beach (38). It's less intense compared to my previous powder blush, and this has gold shimmer so I think it gives that very beach feel kind of glow (aka HEALTHY GLOW).

Almost burst my dataplan for first half of this month (my bill is always mid-month), so I decided to download some free books on Google Play Books over wifi at home and read them offline while I am on the go. I get a good form of entertainment and ever since I got my Asus Zenfone, it was a good time to put the big screen to good use and I have reading mode to make my screen less glaring for comfortable reading.

I started with Rachelle Ann Nune's <This Time Forever> (this book is free) and <Bridge to Forever> ($4.95) and I'm currently reading <Twice in a Lifetime> ($4.95). I am intending to purchase one last one from this author <Where I Belong>. All these books are some how linked and certain books focus on the life of a particular character. Bridge to Forever is a direct continuation of This Time Forever, and Where I Belong supposedly to be after Bridge to Forever, but I got on the other related book. It's of light, clean, healthy romance, teaching about relationships (good and bad) in life, about growing up, treating people right.

Sharing some of my favourite apps on my Zenfone this month.

01. Google Play Books (as explained earlier)

02. Pixlr Express
If you have noticed, I started to put white borders around my instagram photos, the first app I used was bad, and I can't remember the name of it anymore (not worth remembering), it reduces my photo quality whenever the white border is added and the thickness of the border is not that nice and fixed. Recently chanced upon Pixlr Express and under borders, it has "SQUARED", I am using WhiteThin option for my borders. So, no secrets behind my InstaPhotos.

The First Step Out

November 9, 2014

It's NOVEMBER! I have started working again after my 1 week break. I am currently helping out at a pharmacy in a public hospital. I think I am enjoying my work, though I don't have much time to do things I love. But it's okay, it's temporary and maybe once I settled in more, I should be able to get round the routine. So for now, I am usually very behind time catching up with any form of news, dramas and music.

My daily Monday to Friday routine is Wake Up -> Work -> Get Home. & When I'm home, I can only watch dramas that are of 30 minutes long per episode or max, 1 hour, that's if I want to ensure I have enough sleep to start the next day. I try to sleep by 11PM, and I am very thankful my new job doesn't start that early. So I get about 7hrs of sleep everyday. It's already a luxury. I wake up not being grumpy and moody, so I get to enjoy my work more (though there are also some teeny bit of annoyance at work, there's always that someone who annoys you no matter where you work). But I shan't be bothered.

Week went by quite fast (which is a good thing). Made new friends at work, and we are all in this together so it's great to help one another during work.

Went to get my Visa Medical Check Up yesterday at Paragon, and holy I must be the only few souls in Orchard at 9AM. My checkup went pretty smoothly and quickly. I think I was done by 10AM. Very excited when I was about to be weighed. #GIRLS But oh wells, it's a good gauge to double confirm my weight that I usually take with my bathroom scale. 43.4kg (with bread, water eaten and wearing a tank top and jeans).

Glad I am maintaining my weight. In case you didn't know, I used to weigh about 45-46kg it fluctuates a lot. Back in June I planned out how I wanted to lose weight. It took me about 20 days to lose 1.5-2kg. How do you actually know if you lost weight? Is to keep monitoring your weight for weeks after you notice a drop in weight. If it constantly drops by a little (not drastically) intentionally, it is a weight loss. and usually 1.5-2kg drop is a good gauge and 1kg could just be water mass.

Always remember weight management is all about:

INPUT vs. OUTPUT

Input: what you put into your mouth
Output: Energy expended. (and also how much shit toxin you clear out, regular bowel movement is a good way to get rid of unnecessary shit weight, approx. 200-500g depending on how many days you didn't shit la, hahas).

In case if you are interested on my mini weight loss journey, you can read my post here: http://miyeo.blogspot.sg/2014/06/easy-dieting.html

Monthly Favourites: October 2014

October 31, 2014

October is ending! Thought of sharing some products that I've been loving and have been reaching for lately. Just realised they are all Drugstore products, yay to easy purchasing. Also, I want to say this a genuine sharing of products I truly love.

01. BIOESSENCE Sleeping Beauty Mask

The BEST sleeping mask/moisturiser I have ever used. Not kidding at all! I have emptied out the entire tub of blue goodness in just 2-3 months. When I first wrote a review that was when I first started using it. & yesterday I have finished using it, I scrap all the remaining product that could be left in the tub to use it to the FULLEST.
What I love about it: NON-STICKINESS & EASY APPLICATION
Don't you hate it when you have something sticky on your face? If you are like me, then I would recommend this sleeping mask. Much better than Laneige's (I have used it before, and I dislike the sticky feeling). & also even better than Loreal's Mask-in Lotion (which I started using last night, it has this slight sticky after feel, product didn't claim to be non-sticky so I cannot complain).
This you get 2 products in 1: MOISTURISER + SLEEPING MASK. Love how it spreads on my skin very easily and it turns just a bit watery after application which cools my skin down. In short, YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT!

02. BIOESSENCE Sunscreen Moisturising Cream SPF56
I have finally found my HOLY GRAIL sunscreen! One that moisturises without whitening my face. It also smells really good and "atas" (aiya you know how quality products smell). This doesn't whiten my skin, but BRIGHTENS it up. Doesn't really have that very sticky feeling, it could feel a little sticky at first, but after a while the stickiness goes away. Wait till I start using the highly raved NOV's sunscreen and do a comparison of which I prefer more.

03. HIMALAYA Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub
Love this bomb! I use it twice a week (Sundays and Wednesdays are my exfoliating days), I wouldn't say it does everything it claims (eg. like clearing blackheads), but I would say it help clear out most of my whiteheads and my dead skin cells. I could feel my skin softer after each time I use it and it doesn't dries out my skin at all. & BAM! this bomb smells AWESOME, like a Nutty Banana Milkshake. I prefer my exfoliating product to have some slight gentle abrasion to really deep cleanse it. My brother loves it too!

04. ESSENTIAL Damage Care Hair Serum
I cannot leave the house without applying this on. Actually, some days I bring this out in my bag too. Because my hair frizzes very easily, especially in air-conditioned areas where the air sucks and drains all the moisture from my poor hair. Smells great, works great, a handy hair tamer!

05. SILKYGIRL Roll-On Perfume Concentrate in Bulgarian Rose
Slightly into scents this month. I actually received this a couple of months back, but didn't have interest in it then. It actually smells quite nice not overpowering. Just a light scent of rosiness. It is a Roll-on perfume so it makes application on-the-go pretty easy too!
I guess that's all from me today. I believe you can easily grab these products from Watsons/Guardian/Major Supermarts. I am still on the hunt for my holy grail facial cleanser. Any recommendations?

Being A Virgo

October 28, 2014

Chanced upon this while on youtube. Guess it describes 80-90% of me. I can be wild and wise at the same time (yes I play a lot, not so much of partying, but I do make sensible decisions). I am aware of the less-known sales, online or offline. People around me can count on me to get things done. When I say will, I eventually will.

Being a perfectionist is my downfall. Because I believe if you can do it to the best, do it to your best, nothing LESS. Oh, and I don't deny I can be rather judgemental at times and I do gossip too.

Stating that I have an analytical mind is somewhat true. I do think a lot, and do somehow work well with datas (but not very willingly).

I have a subtle helpful nature, in the video they said it would bring me success as a therapist/medical professional (which I will in a couple of years) & could end up as a nutritionist due to health-consciousness. Pretty true, heading for the Nutrition & Dietetics route. Anyway, there is a difference between a Dietitian & a Nutritionist (Google for it).

& yes, in a relationship, I look for a loyal soul. In friendships, friends do ask for advices (though I may not necessarily have the most experience). Maybe they feel like I do give realistic advices. My favourite advice is "You live not to please others, is to be happy yourself".

New Cut!

October 25, 2014

Got myself a new haircut today! So glad that it turned out great and to what I expected. So much lighter now! Been so long since I went short. Time for a change! I love getting my hair cut some how, because it's so therapeutic.

As usual, I would research and look up hairstyles that I want to try. Did a collage and showed it my hairdresser! I specifically told her I like the one in the middle.

Cut all the tresses away, and stress goes away! New opportunity lies ahead. Feeling a little excited and hopeful.

 Happy Weekends everybody!

Till the next time, Stay Happy!

Importance of the RIGHT JOB.

October 7, 2014

Today, I finally realised how important it is to find a job that suits you, and that you enjoy doing. Because I just landed myself in a good job, but not one that suits me and I do not enjoy doing it. It's good because of the rare opportunity and pay, etc.

I feel like crap at work. Because the work I do doesn't give me a sense of satisfaction or achievement. To me, it feels like doing useless work. Because I don't learn anything from it. What makes it even worse is the environment that this job doesn't allow me to be in the frontline - getting to communicate with other humans. I mostly do paperwork. I feel very restrained and confined. I am a person who needs to be OUT THERE talking to people, that's why I chose to pursue public healthcare as my future. But this temporary job is so desk bound, which akins to an OFFICE LADY. I just can't handle OL jobscope.

I feel very regretful now, to not think twice previously when offered this temp. job. What was I thinking then? Everyday I have to psycho myself that the day will soon pass and a new day will arrive. But the same old day will arrive. So it sucks.

I am dying for interaction. I want to be out there helping out, even if it meant doing 'sai-kang' or literally shit job that requires a lot of labour work. I want to be able to be of help. Like how a sales staff would be of help to a customer that comes to shop. Or a customer service officer who replies email and knows that the email would sort of help the sender.

& also I don't have a guide at work, and everyday feels so lost. Not knowing what to accomplish each day. I am the kind of person who needs to accomplish something each day. So this in turn has led to the stress that I am experiencing after only 4 days of work. Maybe it's just too different from the kind of work I did before. It's so hard to look forward to each new day. I am really tearing as I type this post out, that's how much stress and sadness I am facing. I don't even know what to do with this job. My mum wants me to try it and only give up when it becomes too much to handle.

Now I know how sucky it is to be in a job that is so not you and having to hold on. But I am slowly losing the will to hold on, because I don't learn much from it. Maybe I crave interaction, knowledge and skills a lot, I am greedy for these. But there is really no job satisfaction, not sure how long I can survive. I have 50+ working days.
