It's already the end of November! Apologies for leaving this space unattended. I have been busy with my work, surprisingly I fit in the new work environment quite well. Time passed so quickly! It's time for another Monthly Favourites!
For the month of November, I have been using ChicKissLove quite a bit since it often has sales and I get established blogshop apparels at a much cheaper price. I got a TheClosetLover pants at only $13.50, felt like i scored on it. Also, BLACK FRIDAY just passed and I got a couple of apparels from different webstores.
Also, I managed to attend CKL's Style Wars I last weekend and bagged home a few great deals (Tops and bottoms were 10 SGD, and dresses/outerwears were 15 SGD). Glad I had won VIP Pass so I could lay my fingers on the clothes, I was eyeing on some while the CKL staff were pushing in the clothes filled rack #KiaSuModeOn . It was my first time attending a blogshop warehouse sales (the only warehouse sale I go to is sports warehouse sales) and I felt like sharing some tips if you were to ever attend one.
Pre-event: Measure and note the dimension of each piece of apparel that fit you best (PTP, STS, Chest, Waist, Length etc), you will need to refer to this during the event.
1. Use a Sling Bag/Crossbody
So both hands of yours can do their work, rummaging through the racks and picking the clothes out quickly.
2. Pick, then shortlist
Go all out and pick clothes that you like even if it meant exceeding your budget, then proceed to a corner and shortlist the clothes that can fit you and you MUST HAVE. The ones that you don't want, return them to the racks. Simple isn't it?
3. Bring a measuring tape
So you can measure if the clothes fit you, check against the measurement list that you made before the event.
4. Bring an umbrella
Singapore weather is bipolar, so bring one to tackle wet and super hot weathers while making your way to the sale/back home.
I have been shopping on Shopping-District.net and I recently bought a new eye shadow palette, powder blush and an eyebrow kit and I must say I am happy with my purchase! You can get quite a variety of US/UK drugstore/established cosmetic brands from their webstore!
Revolution Iconic 3 Palette. It's supposedly a Naked3 dupe, and I would say the color pay-off is quite good. Never owned and never will own a Naked1/2/3 so I can't compare, but I am sure you can search up the reviews online. It also comes in Iconic 1 and 2 but unfortunately sold out. Definitely love this more than BeautyUK palette.
Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Medium/02. Finally something for my brows and fits me because I just might stick to having brown tones to my hair. Love how it comes with all the mini tools, just EVERYTHING-in-1 set, ready to go.
Jordana Powder Blush in Coral Sandy Beach (38). It's less intense compared to my previous powder blush, and this has gold shimmer so I think it gives that very beach feel kind of glow (aka HEALTHY GLOW).
Almost burst my dataplan for first half of this month (my bill is always mid-month), so I decided to download some free books on Google Play Books over wifi at home and read them offline while I am on the go. I get a good form of entertainment and ever since I got my Asus Zenfone, it was a good time to put the big screen to good use and I have reading mode to make my screen less glaring for comfortable reading.
I started with Rachelle Ann Nune's <This Time Forever> (this book is free) and <Bridge to Forever> ($4.95) and I'm currently reading <Twice in a Lifetime> ($4.95). I am intending to purchase one last one from this author <Where I Belong>. All these books are some how linked and certain books focus on the life of a particular character. Bridge to Forever is a direct continuation of This Time Forever, and Where I Belong supposedly to be after Bridge to Forever, but I got on the other related book. It's of light, clean, healthy romance, teaching about relationships (good and bad) in life, about growing up, treating people right.
Sharing some of my favourite apps on my Zenfone this month.
01. Google Play Books (as explained earlier)
02. Pixlr Express
If you have noticed, I started to put white borders around my instagram photos, the first app I used was bad, and I can't remember the name of it anymore (not worth remembering), it reduces my photo quality whenever the white border is added and the thickness of the border is not that nice and fixed. Recently chanced upon Pixlr Express and under borders, it has "SQUARED", I am using WhiteThin option for my borders. So, no secrets behind my InstaPhotos.
