Head-to-Toe Skincare

August 2, 2014

Have decided to consolidate a Head to Toe Skincare products that I use and share my routine. I think there's no right or wrong when it comes to skincare since everyone's skin and problems are different. What's important is feeling comfortable, fresh and clean. I have indicated a "♥" beside products I love.

[Scalp Care]
01. Innisfree Mint Green Tea Scaler&nbsp
02. Innisfree Mint Green Tea Fresh Shampoo ♥

Scalp is part of your skin, if you have scalp problem, you visit a dermatologist as well.

Scaler is pretty new in the market and also to me, but i guess what it does is that it helps in cleaning your scalp more thoroughly. It is used before shampooing, so I think it makes like dirt on your scalp get removed more easily. The shampoo is exceptionally good in hot weathers, as it leaves your entire head feeling cool and fresh. 1 minor downside is probably it will sting a bit more if it get into your eyes as it's almost like toothpaste kind of minty.

[Facial Skincare Routine]

02. Wonder Pore Freshener ♥ / Curel Sebum Care Lotion ♥
03. BioEssence Hydra Tri-Action Aqua Moisturising Gel  ♥
04. Sunplay Clear Water Sunscreen (SPF 50+ PA+++) ♥

~ Night Routine ~

01. Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming ♥ / Curel Sebum Care Foaming Wash
02. Wonder Pore Freshener ♥ / Curel Sebum Care Lotion ♥
03. BioEssence Hydra Tri-Action Aqua Moisturising Gel  ♥
OR  Laneige Water Sleeping Pack Ex (only if I feel like I need extra moisture)
I have switched to Bioessence Sleeping Beauty Mask

I have been changing and using different brands of cleansers for the whole of 2014 thus far. Initially, I was using a doctor's prescribed one, but then for a period I had very very very itchy skin for my entire face, and that was when the Curel Sebum range was sent to me by the lovely SampleStore. Immediately tried it, and the itching reduced by a lot. Only bad thing it's that it started to be a little too drying for my skin. I still use it on and off on days when I feel there's excess oil/sebum produced.

Etude house sent me the Wonder Pore Best of Best Set a few months later (in July) because of some issues they have as a compensation. Was skeptical about the foaming wash, because foam washes usually just dries out my entire face. But not this one, even after weeks of usage. It has this very cooling sensation as well. The freshener was surprisingly un-drying as well. Oh and it doesn't really sting.

BioEssence's Tri-Action Aqua Moisturising Gel works similarly like the Laneige's Sleeping Pack. I use it thinly as my moisturiser and it can double up as a night mask too if I apply it thickly.

Laneige water sleeping pack was given to me in a goodie bag kit. Use it when I need extra moisture and if I have important event the next day.

On and off I would also play with a very interesting toy - the moisture monitor that I got from Qoo10. Just to check if my skin is properly hydrated. Looking at the moisture % results makes you want to work hard to stay in the "well-hydrated range".

Fun Fact: Did you know Sunblock & Sunscreen are 2 DIFFERENT products?

"Sunblock reflects the sun's rays and prevents them from penetrating our skin... Sunscreen filters out high % of UVB rays." - Quoted from CGH's Caring Magazine Issue 131

Sunplay sunscreen doesn't leave a white cast over my face, and it blocks both UVA and UVB. It does not have a sticky feeling, but adds a little healthy glow to my face (it's not very oily, but it's the healthy, sunshine girls kind of glow). But it is a little too watery, so I'm still on my hunt for a good sunscreen.

& I learnt from a Korean Health Show that you should apply it 30mins before you head out, and apply again throughout the day if you are constantly exposed to harmful Sun rays. & from a Local Beauty show that we should look out for phrases on the sunscreen such as"High broad spectrum protection" as it means it filters out both UVA and UVB (> damaging than UVA).

[Masking Routine]
01. Cleanser OR Exfoliating/Peeling Gels
// Etude House I'm Blooming Brightening Wash-Off Gel ♥// Cure Natural Aqua Gel ♥//

02. Lukewarm Water Rinse-off

03. Mask (Sheet/Gel Mask or Mask Packs or Sleeping Packs)
Innisfree // Nature Republic // BeauteForest // Etude House etc.

04. Lukewarm Water Rinse-off

I have not much preference for masks, so I use whatever I have or been given. & I like exfoliating pre-masking as I feel dead skin cells has to go before the goodness from masks can get beneath the skin. I usually use masks for moisturising effect.

[Pimple/Blemish/Blackhead Care]
01. Innisfree Bija anti-trouble spot essence R ♥
02. Garnier PureActive 2in1 tinted spot roll on
03. Nexcare acne patch ♥
04. Stiemycin Solution*** ♥ (Topical Antibiotic for Acne, for very bad and stubborn acne)
*** I got mine when I had very bad backne, it's a prescribed medication.
05. Biore Nose Pack
06. Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead out Balm

Here's a video that gives your more insight to Acne. Blackheads and whiteheads are also considered as Acne! Hope it helps!

[Lip Care]
01. Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm Stick ♥ / Belleme 24/7 I Need Moisture Lipbalm

02. Innisfree Lipmask / Etude House Cherry Lipmask

03. Drink a lot of water (actually this helps every part of your body)

[Hand Care]
01. Nature Republic Mango Butter Hand Cream ♥

02. Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Cream

03. Etude House's Petit Bijou Body Lotion (Travel Size) ♥

Both handcreams were gifted, but i prefer Nat Rep's Mango Butter scent. Sometimes I use Petit Bijou Body Lotion as hand moisturiser (I have it in travel size).

[Body Care]
01. Petit Bijou Body Lotion ♥

Quite aromatherapeutic if you are like me who likes baby scents. Makes me feel like a baby once again, therapeutic because a baby doesn't have worries. Just be fed, sleep, play, shit and that's it. I use this on areas where they tend to get neglected: Neck, Shoulders, Elbows, Legs (especially Knees and Heels).

[Foot Care]
01. Innisfree Cooling Foot Scrub

02. Dettol Antiseptic Solution (Diluted) ♥

Foot scrub to exfoliate my skin and diluted dettol solution for anti-bacterial function. I want to try a foot-peeling mask, but I can't decide which particular mask I should try. Anyone has good recommendation for pocket-friendly yet effective foot peeling masks?

I have also other video links about various skin-related stuff that might interest you. It's a Korean health programme - VITAMIN. A show that invites and assess celebrities for certain illness or condition. All with English Subtitles! I enjoy watching it and to gain extra knowledge.

Keeping your blood clean is vital in keeping your skin healthy and trouble free, and also reduces your risks for other more serious health conditions. So you might want to learn a tip or two.

Important for those getting older, always in the sun and even young ladies to prevent all these skin complexes. Prevention over treatment!

I have been working on this blog post for a few months, because my routine kind of changes when a better product comes along (if it works for me). If you want to share your skincare routine, feel free to leave a comment on this post or comment with your blog post link! I would love to learn more about skincare as well!

Hope you enjoyed this blog post! August is quite a busy month and I'm prepping for my own Birthday Party. A lot of things to take into consideration. Only thing that has been settled a month or two ago was Venue and Party Theme. Currently working on the aesthetics of the party such as Photobooth backdrops and thank you cards, door gift (thank you gift). Will get down to settle the food aspect soon once all the RSVP-ing is done. Will blog about my birthday party, so do expect for that post. Should be up in early or mid- September.
