Drama Addict: The Heirs

December 28, 2013

So for the past week, I have been watching THE HEIRS, I completed the drama in 2 days. That's pretty much my record. I take about a day for 10-12 episodes, I watch them till about 1AM+ cause I always have this damn bad luck to stop at a wrong episode & I don't wish to keep myself in suspense till the next morning.
The Heirs would by far by my FAVOURITE Drama of 2013, and my top few dramas ever since I watched any Dramas. I cried, I laughed throughout the 2 days. I'm one who gets sucked into the drama, I feel as though I'm with the characters, and having to witness everything that happened do pull heartstrings, and I think it's because I can relate to my own life more and more, some parts do hurt a little more. My tears are like a free flowing waterfall when I watch a sad romance scene.

There are a lot of good looking idols/actresses and actors in this drama! Such as Woo Bin, CN Blu'e Minhyuk, F(X)'s Krystal, ZE:A's Hyungsik.

So, I have fallen for Lee Min Ho once again, and his character in the show - Kim Tan.

How can you not like him right? This is an actual photo he has taken for the drama, where he playfully uploaded to Cha Eun Sang (played by Park Shin Hye) SNS (social media, like facebook) account.

Kim Tan was such a lovely 18 yr old boy, which no doubt many girls would yearn for. But in this century, i think ceased to exist any more. He was pure, innocent, gentle and very open with his feelings, and obviously not forgetting he's pretty rich. *who would mind if there's extra cash right?* But being rich is not the main point, cause in the drama he DID NOT even spend lavishly for his girl. I like he has so much love for his older brother (half-blood).

His over-protectiveness and obessive-ness were appropriate, unlike what usually happens in real life. He asks things in a way that is funny, but at the same time filled with genuine concern. He raises his voice at his girl, but that because he wanted the least trouble for his girl. He was just so expressive and direct. He was pretty thicked skin or shameless too, to self-praise, but in appropriate amount, and the right time. & lastly, his countless back hugs that seemed so warm.

Eg. "Kids like Kim Tan, because he is handsome. Kim Tan is smart because he is handsome." One of the lines that actually cracked me up. But in real-life, I might laugh, and probably throw in things like "wahlao, you damn thick skin sia".

But my favourite lines were "Take courage" "Continue walking forward, straight forward" "I'll always be behind you" (this was literally protecting his girl emotionally and physically). Taking all the kiss scenes out, my favourite scene would be Kim Tan throwing a gift bag containing a new wallet for Eun Sang... and of course had already have his own photo in the wallet. The way he waves goodbye was so child-like.

I'm having a hard time trying to put Kim Tan down... that I painted a portrait with the greatest phrase from the drama "He who wishes to wear the crown must bear its weight". Hopefully to find a guy half as awesome as Kim Tan is good enough next time... maybe in about 4-5 years time? Likely to be living abroad for a few years due to further studies. Love would then depend on fate. If it is meant to happen, it will happen. Not my priority anyway, cause I'm not done with academics.

All in all, thankful I'm not amongst any heirs, else I wouldn't be living a good life. I pity people who are heir or heiress. Their lives seem so sad, so controlled.

What kind of crown do we want to wear and are we wearing?

Is it wealth, fame or love?
